As a non-profit organization we are always looking for ways to reach potential blood donors. As an industry we know the No. 1 reason people don’t donate blood, is because they are never asked. With the help of a billboard on a busy stretch of highway thousands of people were asked every day. Those decisions that were prompted by that message saved lives. During 2008, we approached the Outdoor Advertising Association of Georgia (OAAG) about working with us in a partnership effort allowing us to pay for a certain amount of billboards while receiving additional postings as an in-kind from the Industry. They have a unique program for nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
